CIVEcompositemin Drexel Class of 1982 alumna, Karen Jehanian (President of KMJ Consulting) and Darin Gatti (Chief Engineer and President of the Board of Surveyors for the Philadelphia Streets Department) along with several KMJ staff members brought their actual work experience to some Drexel Engineering students as part of the CIVE 585 class on February 25, 2015.

As part of this class, Karen Jehanian, Bridget Postlewaite and Marty Williams provided the students with a “Traffic Engineering 101” class which included information and real world examples on a variety of traffic engineering studies including: Traffic Calming Studies, Safety Studies, Travel Time & Delay Studies and all the components needed to perform a Traffic Impact Study.

The students were also provided with insightful experience on communicating in a professional office setting and with the public. Joanna Reagle gave the students advice and information on sending and acknowledging communications with their clients, colleagues and peers.

The highlight of the class was a presentation by Darin Gatti first demonstrating an unsuitable way to present to the public and then the appropriate and effective methods to present and gather information in a public meeting.
